Tag questions

You do know who he is, don't you?

We are late to school, aren't we?

You don't play field hockey, do you?

He doesn't watch The Crown, does he? 

Als de hoofdzin positief is, is de tag question negatief 

She is always positive, isn't she?

Als de hoofdzin negatief is, is de tag question positief 

You don't know him, do you? 

Als in de hoofdzin het werkwoord to be of to have got staat, herhaal je dat werkwoord in de tag question

You are too busy, aren't you?

They have got a new car, haven't they?

Bij alle andere werkwoorden, of als er alleen have in plaats van have got in de hoofdzin staat, gebruik je do/don't of does/doesn't

We have until tomorrow, don't we? 

You know the answer, don't you?

In de tag question staat altijd een persoonlijk voornaamwoord (I, you, he/she/it, we, you, they)

Greg isn't here, is he? 

Julia and Emma love to sing, don't they?

Als er in de hoofdzin 'I am' staat, krijg je in de tag question 'aren't I'

I am always on time, aren't I?

Maar:

I'm not too late, am I?
