(5 min) DO NOW DIRECTIONS: Complete the response to the best of your ability.

“Wade in the Water” was one of the songs used to motivate enslaved people to freedom.
It is time to move, It is time to go by the waterway, It is time to go to the North Star.
“What was meant by ‘Wade in the Water’?”
The dogs can’t smell that scent.
“What reason would the enslaved need to wade in the water?”
It's time to start looking, It's time to start traveling, It's time to start getting ready to cross over that Jordan.
