The development of life on Earth, with species appearing and changing and/or disappearing

Species (soorten) that are better addapted to their environment survive and produce more offspring (nakomelingen).

Giraffes with long necks have a higher chance to survive and therefore reproduce

Evolution in Steps

1. There is variation between individuals within one species 'genetic variation'.
   
2. Individuals with an advantage have a higher chance of surviving ' natural selection' 
   
3. The individuals that survive will have a higher chance to produce offspring
