How do earthquakes form?

The areas where plates meet and where plates move towards each other are the places on earth with the greatest chance of earthquakes.

How do volcanoes erupt?

Oceanic plate dives underneath the continental. Rocks and sediment melts, and due to pressure it rises up. 

Why live here?

Consequences of volcanic eruption?

• Large areas become covered with ash and lava
  
• Extremely hot gas clouds are formed which blast from the volcano

What are the signs that a volcano is about to erupt?

• In rich countries people can signal that an eruption is going to take place more quickly and easily.
  
• In rich countries the population can be warned and evacuated more quickly than in poor countries.
