1. Title

What is the title of this map?

"The title tells you what the map is about; just like a

a book"

2. Legend / Key

What does the yellow colour mean?

 

"The legend is the explanation of the map symbols.

Sometimes it is referred to as the key of the map instead of legend."

3. North Arrow / Compass Rose

Sometimes there is no north arrow or compass rose on the map. Where do you think north is automatically?

"The north arrow or wind rose shows where north is on the map."

4. Scale (1/3)

"The scale helps you to figure out how large the area is that is shown on the map."

It can be displayed in several ways
