Some vs Any
Some:
  • In positive sentences;
  • In questions when you're sure the answer is yes.

Examples:
- I need some eggs.
- Can I have some water, please?
- They have some tasks for us.
Any:
  • In negative sentences;
  • In most questions.


Examples:
- Do you have any sugar?
- They don't have any money.
- He has not got any energy left.

There are different plural forms:
- heroes
- buses/boxes/matches
- shelves
- parties
- mice/women/feet
- fish/sheep/moose

Plurals
Heroes:
When a noun ends with consonant + o you put -es at the end of the word

Examples:
Hero - Heroes
Tomato - Tomatoes
Echo - Echoes
Buses:
When a noun ends with s, x, z or ch you put -es at the end of the word

Examples:
Bus - Buses
Box - Boxes
Match - Matches

When a noun ends with f or fe you get -ves

Examples:

Dwarf - Dwarves
Knife - Knives
Parties:
When a noun ends with consonant + y you get -ies

Examples:

Penny - Pennies

Irregular plurals:
Some plurals have an irregular form. You have to learn these by heart.

Examples:
Mouse - Mice
Woman - Women or Man - Men
Foot - feet
Tooth - Teeth

No different form:
Some nouns stay the same in their plural form. You have to learn these by heart.
