Animals and their Adaptations

The student will investigate and understand that adaptaions allow organisms to satisfy life needs and respond to the environment.

Adaptation

Discussion depends on students answers. If having difficulty, then give examples.

Ex.

What do bears do in the winter?

What might a predator have that helps them hunt?

Physical Adaptations

Behavioral Adaptations

something an ogranism DO esto survive.

Ducks: have webbed feet to help them swim

Polar Bears: Skin is actually black but their fur is white to help them live in a snowy environment.

Penguins: Huddle together for warmth

Camels: Have humps in order to store water because water is scarce in the desert. 

Migration: moving from one place to another at certain times of the year.

Mimicry: when one living thing resembles a different living thing a benefit.
