  • He is responsible for the attack on the Capitol
  • He did not condemn his supporters who attacked the Capitol
  • He does not take responsibility for his actions

Example
Trump is responsible for the attack on the Capitol because he has repeatedly encouraged his followers to become violent. One of the things he said in his speech before the angry mob attacked the Capitol was: 'If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore'

Get your facts straight
To make your speech successful and credible:
  • check your facts
  • don't be vague
  • Don't use too many dry facts
  • It makes your point stronger!
  • It makes you an authority

Use subject-specific words
  • Read English articles on your subject
  • become an authority on your subject

Example Trump:
Impeachment, Inciting Insurrection, Senate, National Guard, Congress, The Constitution

  • repeat your statement (but use different words)

Example Trump:
Trump harmed our democracy, violated his oath and is responsible for the attack on our constitution. There can only be one answer:

  • You will be marked on your speech - weight 3
  • 3 minutes, recorded with a voicerecorder
  • Speeches will be given in Teams in groups of 3, 2 groups per lesson
  • Make groups 
  • 1 person per group sends me a message with a list of the members
  • I will send you an invitation 
  • Note: Meetings will be scheduled 15 minutes earlier than other classes!
