pick 1 assignment
A. Book review
First, write a summary (samenvatting) of 250-300 words, excluding quotations. Then, write down what you think about the book (150-200 words). Would you recommend it to others? What was your favourite scene? Who was your favourite character? For all your answers, explain why/why not, and cite evidence (citeer) from the book. Use at least four quotations plus page numbers from the book.

Slide 4 - Tekstslide

B. Character sketch
First, write a summary (samenvatting) of 250-300 words, excluding quotations. Then, write a character sketch of one of the main characters in your novel. (150-200 words, excluding quotations). A character sketch is a detailed depiction (gedetailleerde beschrijving) of someone’s personality. You are going to write down 5 character traits (persoonlijkheidskenmerken) and give evidence (bewijs) from the book. Use at least one quotation (per trait, so five quotations in total plus page numbers) from the book.

C. & D. Speaking

The speaking assignment is practically the same as the writing assignment (A. Book review summary or B. Character sketch). Here, you can be a bit more creative: you are allowed to use your written script to make a video/spoken presentation about the book you read. However, you still need to hand in your written work for it to be checked for plagiarism!
