Both words say something about another word, but how do you know which word is an adverb or an adjective?

Adjective
We use an adjective to describe someone or something.
An adjective says something about a noun -> His blue jacket got lost at that boring party.

* An adverb can say something about a verb -> He laughs loudly.
* An adverb can say something about an adjective -> She has a remarkably loud voice
* An adverb can say something about another adverb -> He laughs very loudly

Adverb rules
Adverbs consist of an adjective + ly
bad -> badly / strong -> strongly / quick -> quickly
But there are exceptions!
- le
le -> ly
adorable -> adorably
- consonant + y 
y -> ily
heavy - heavily
- ic
+ ally
automatic - automatically
