My brother, who......

When we want to say 'my father, who' or 'my sister, who' we have to use what is called a relative pronoun.

Mein Vater, der vierzig ist, hat lange braune Haare.

Meine Mutter, die nett ist, hat viele Freunde.

Sein Haus, das modern ist, hat viele Zimmer.

Meine Geschwister, die älter als ich sind, haben viel zu tun.

With and In

With and in are both words called prepositions.  In German they are mit and in.

When we use them we use the dative.  We use the dative with mit all the time and we use the dative with in when we are not moving.

Although the dative is a case, like the nominative and the accusative, we are using it here with prepositions.

Speaking Questions

In the speaking exam (for EOY test and for GCSE) you will have a photo and then a question on the topic of the photo that is prescribed by the exam board.

After that we are told to ask one question about the same topic (as the photo) and then we can talk about anything.
