Chopping Board

Meaning: The surface used to cut vegetables, meat, or bread.

Vocabulary 2: Whisk

Meaning: A kitchen tool with a long handle and wire loops, used for beating or mixing. Pronunciation: /wɪsk/ Try it out loud!

Vocabulary 3: Simmer

Meaning: To cook gently in liquid just below boiling. Pronunciation: /ˈsɪm.ər/ Say it slowly together.

Vocabulary 4: Ladle

Meaning: A large, deep spoon for serving soup or stew. Pronunciation: /ˈleɪ.dəl/ Let's all say 'ladle'.

Vocabulary 5: Apron

Meaning: A piece of clothing worn over the front of your clothes to keep them clean while cooking. Pronunciation: /ˈeɪ.prən/ Repeat after me!
