Waarom Passive? 

1) Als de persoon of het ding dat de actie uitvoert onbekend of onbelangrijk is, kan passieve stem worden gebruikt om de nadruk te leggen op wat er is gedaan in plaats van wie het heeft gedaan.

Formele schrijfstijl: In formele contexten wordt passieve stem vaak gebruikt omdat het formeler klinkt dan actieve stem. Het wordt vaak gezien in wetenschappelijke, academische of technische teksten.

How do you make the Passive Voice?

Hoe maak je Passive?

1. Identificeer het onderwerp, werkwoord en lijdend voorwerp of meewerkend voorwerp in de actieve

zin.

 He (ow) cooked (ww) a delicious meal (lv).

2.  Zet het lijdend voorwerp of meewerkend voorwerp van de actieve zin in het begin van de passieve

zin.

 A delicious meal (lijdend voorwerp) …

He cooked a delicious meal

Voeg het werkwoord "to be" toe in de juiste vorm (a\ankelijk van de Bjd van de oorspronkelijke zin)

A delicious meal was …”

He cooked a delicious meal (actieve zin)

Voeg het voltooid deelwoord (3e vorm) van het werkwoord uit de actieve zin toe en maak de zin af.

“A delicious meal was cooked.” - Passieve zin

to be 

present simple      I eat an apple - An apple is eaten …    

present continuous     I am eating an apple - An apple is being eaten...      

past simple       I ate an apple  - An apple was eaten …  

I eat a nice salad.
Maak lijdend

1. A nice salad is eaten (by me).
2. A nice salad was eaten by me.

He built a Lego house.

1. A Lego house was built.
2. A Lego house is being built.

She read that book twice

1. That book was read twice.
2. That book has been read twice.

They are listening to the album.

1. The album is being listened to.
2. The album was listened to.
3. The album is listened to.

You make a sandwich every morning.

1. A sandwich is made every morning.
2. A sandwich will be made every morning.

She is watching her favourite TV series

1. Her favourite TV series is being watched.
2. Her favourite TV series is watched.

He drank a cup of tea.

1. A cup of tea was being drunk.
2. A cup of tea was drunk.

Make passive!

1. The teacher always explains the difficult grammar.

2. She is baking a batch of chocolate cookies.

3. The gardener planted several apple trees.

4. Someone cleaned the bathroom.

5. The TV chef cooks an interesting meal.

6. We are watching a scary movie.

7. Someone is using my laptop right now.
