Slide 11 - Quizvraag

Multiple choice question: Where does the name of Museo de la
Universidad del Rosario come from?

Answer: C. Virgen de la bordadita

Its name "Bordadita" goes back to the XVIII Century, when the image of the Virgen de Nuestra Señora del Rosario began to be referred to as “La Bordadita”.

Extra information: Nuestra Señora del Rosario “La Bordadita” is a symbol of Marian devotion. The image that dominates the chapel’s altarpiece was donated to the Colegio by the University’s vice-president, Fray Juan del Rosario in the second half of the XVII century. According to the Colegio’s inventory, it is a gold and silk embroidery, which gives rise to its name “La Bordadita”, which is the same name given to the University chapel enshrining the image of Our Lady
