Present Continuous
When:
- something is happening right now
Recognise: right now, at the moment, now
Make: Person + am/are/is + verb + ing + rest of sentence
I am walking to school right now

Present Continuous
Verbs we don't use in the continuous:
Verbs of thinking: believe, understand, know, think, mean, hope
Scientist believe the earth is 4.6 billion years old - not are believing
Verbs of liking/not liking: like, hate, love, want, need, prefer
Verbs of owning: own, belong, have
I have a coat - not I am having a coat

Present Continuous
Verbs we don't use in the continuous:
verbs that describe sensation: see, feel, hear, smell, taste
The water feels cold - not the water is feeling cold

But you can use it to say how someone looks or feels now:
How are you feeling today? - I'm feeling better

Sensation:
However, you can often use can with these words
Hear: I can hear the ocean from my bed.
See: I can see the ocean from my bed. Not: I am seeing the ocean from my bed.

verbs of thinking:
When think means to 'have an opinion', we do not use the PC
Scientists think there are about 1,000 wild pandas
But, when think means 'consider', we do use the PC
I am thinking of working in a zoo when I'm older
