Introductie

In this lesson, students discuss love; what makes love stories successful and happy; what are visible signs of love between two people and what might ruin a loving relationship? They focus on the love story of a young person and explore their own reactions through questions and exercises.

Introduce the topic

Take a photo of your paper and send it in.

Slide 2 - Open vraag

  1. Ask your learners to grab a piece of paper and write down the word LOVE vertically. 
  2. Then ask them to find nouns, verbs or adjectives beginning with each letter of the word LOVE. The words should be related to love and relationships.
  3. Let them submit a photograph of their paper. (Students can also answer by typing in their answer if it is not possible to send in pictures)
Finish this slide by discussing some answers.

Discuss the answers with the class. 

You can ask an additional question like:

Having considered joyful love stories, now ask your students to think about factors that can ruin a loving relationship.

Discuss which are ‘external’ and ‘internal’ that have influence on love and relationships. Place them together if necessary.

Start the interactive video about Nick (Ukraine, 18). The video is paused at certain times for an interactive question.
Don't forget to turn on the sound and subtitles.

Nick talks about the discrimination he faces as a homosexual in Ukraine.
