VERBS
A verb is the action or state of being in a sentence. Verbs can be expressed in different tenses, depending on when the action is being performed. Example: Jennifer walked to the store. In this sentence, walked is the verb that shows an action.

OBJECT OF A VERB
The direct object of a verb is the thing being acted upon. So, it means it is the receiver of the action. Usually, you can find the direct object by finding the verb and asking “what?” or “whom?”.

COMPLEMENT OF A VERB
In grammar, a verb complement is a word, phrase, or clause that follows the verb to add more information. Verb complements strengthen the meaning and impact of the verb in a sentence.

FINITE AND INFINITE
Finite verb forms are marked by inflection and indicate person, number and tense. A finite verb can be the single main verb in a sentence.
Non-finite verb forms do not indicate person, number or tense. In English most non-finite forms are infinitives, gerunds and participles.

KINDS OF VERBS
1. TRANSITIVE VERB: A verb which requires an object after it to complete its sense is called a transitive verb.
2. INTRANSITIVE VERB: A verb which does not require an object to complete its sense is called an intransitive verb.
