What is the biggest challenge of the online lessons for you?

Slide 3 - Open vraag

How to survive online lessons
Some tips!

Slide 4 - Tekstslide

1. make it easier on the eyes!
Staring at a screen all day can be very tiring for your eyes. Change your screen settings to a more eye-friendly setting and try to walk away from your screen regularly to give your eyes a break (in between lessons, for instance)

2. move around!
In school, you move around a lot more than when you follow lessons from home. Remember to move regularly, for instance to get something to drink from the kitchen or to run, bike, walk, play soccer after your last lesson. Yoga is also a great idea!

3. treat online lessons like a 'normal' day
Make sure you have all your books on your desk when you set up for the day. Plan when you do your homework and when you relax

Slide 7 - Tekstslide

4. make a study group
If you have trouble getting your 'homework' done at the end of the day, ask some friends or classmates if they want to do an online homework session with you

5. use the resources!
Your teachers are still here to help you, but it might be more difficult for you to ask them questions. Send them a message via Teams or e-mail them in Magister with all your questions. Just remember that teachers have down-time, too ;)

Slide 9 - Tekstslide

6. have a dedicated spot
Make sure you can sit at a desk or table in your house. Try to stay off the couch or your bed when you're following your lessons or doing your work, because that might make it hard to concentrate

Slide 10 - Tekstslide

7. do not have too many distractions!
move away from the games, from the tv... ;)

8. participate!
Your teachers cannot (properly) see if you are actually doing your work or not. Actively participate in online lessons. Teachers work hard to make sure you do not fall behind, but what you do is important, too!

9. be proactive!
Stuff happens. Wifi fails, computers update, lessons disapear in Teams. Make sure you always let your teacher know is something is wrong, so that you do not get marked absent or receive a low grade

Slide 13 - Tekstslide

10. let your mentor know if you are struggeling!
online classes are hard. Working from home is hard. Not seeing your school people is hard. Let your mentor know if you cannot keep up or if you are having a hard time
