The present continuous

The present continuous: what is it?

Je gebruikt de present continuous om aan te geven dat iemand iets nu aan het doen is. Je maakt van het werkwoord de vorm op '-ing'. Je gebruikt ook altijd het werkwoord 'to be'.

Een ontkennende zin maak je zo:

to be + not + ww -ing

bijvoorbeeld:

I am not cooking.

She is not cooking. 

We are not cooking.

En een vraagzin maak je zo:

to be + onderwerp + ww - ing

bijvoorbeeld:

Am I cooking?

Are you cooking?

zoals je ziet: de volgorde van de woorden veranderd. 

Susan ______ (to work) right now.
Maak deze ontkennend:

1. Susan is not working
2. Susan is working
3. Susan are not working
4. Susan is working not

Susan is working right now.
Maak een vraagzin:

1. Susan is working right now?
2. Susan working right now?
3. Is Susan working right now?
