Writing assignment 
Write an email/a letter/a note/speech on one of the following topics:
  1. Your parents have decided to move to the country side, you want to stay in the city (or vice versa)
  2. You and a friend of yours have agreed to go on a holiday together. Your friend wants to go to Alaska, you to sunny Florida (or vice versa)
  3. Persuade a friend who doesn't like sports to play your favourite sport with you.
  4. You are running for the position of president of the student council of your school. Why should they choose you?

Method  - Before you start writing
  1. Choose your topic. 
  2. Decide which arguments you are going to use.
  3. Think of one argument that ‘the other side’ could use and think of ways to counter that. 
  4. Write down your main point in one sentence.
  5. Start writing

Remember: 
  • Introduction -  you introduce your topic (about 75 words)
  • Body - you present your arguments (150-250 words)
  • Conclusion - you conclude and repeat your main point (about 75 words).

Only discuss one argument per paragraph.
