Skimming 

 globaal lezen: especially useful for longer texts. Read the title, take a look at the source, the writer, subheadings and read the first sentence of every paragraph and the last sentence of every paragraph if you need more info.

Scanning 

zoekend lezen: search specifically for the information that you need.Read the title and subheadings to know where you could find the information. Look at important words in bold or italics.
