Time is given for prep to collect evidence to support your side.
1st speech of our debate (max 4 mins per group) - You’ll give a constructive speech. A constructive speech constructs your arguments. Set up the key points. Read the pieces of evidence from the chapter to establish your arguments.
Opposite team questions arguments (2 mins)
2nd speech of our debate (max 2 mins) - You will give a rebuttal speech. You’ll rebut your opponents’ arguments. You’ll want to prove to the judge why your side matters more than their side through impact comparison, and you should pick and choose only your best arguments to do so. You should have an idea of what arguments you’d like to use in this round but can't prep for this. (Take notes during opposing team's constructive speech round to help prepare your rebuttals) Summarize why your side is better.
