the way an author develops a character and reveals their unique traits and qualities
Remember STEAL 
Speech-What does the character say? 
Thoughts-What does the character think? 
Effect on others-How do other people react to the character?
Actions-What does the character do? How do they act or behave?
Looks-What does the character look like? How do they dress?
