CONTRACEPTIVES

• Contraceptives literally means "to stop conception", which means to stop fertilisation.
•  Nowadays contraceptives can also be used to stop the spread of diseases.

METHODS OF CONTRACEPTIVES

• Barrier methods

BARRIER METHOD

This create a physical wall between the sperm cells and egg cells, this sometimes also protects against STD's.

CHEMICAL METHOD

Chemical methods of birth control use artificial hormones or chemicals to regulate or stop ovulation and prevent pregnancy

Intrauterine methods

An IUD is a small, T-shaped device that is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. (5 years)

With natural methods people choose to use no artificial methods (plastic, chemicals or implants) to control possible pregnancies, they use there brains & calendars.

STERILIZATION

Sterilization is a permanent form of birth control that either prevents a woman from getting pregnant or prevents a man from releasing sperm.

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVES

Emergency contraception are hormonal pills, taken either as a single dose or two doses 12 hours apart, that are intended for use in the event of unprotected intercourse.
