LIA: Late Incoming Aircraft, flight arriving later – this delay is not caused by the process.

Cancelled

CXD: flight is cancelled

SAN: Sera Annulée,

Diverted

DIV: flight diverting, flight has been diverted

(due to the weather, for example, it is very foggy at the arrival airport)

TEC: Technical problems, technical problems with the aircraft

ATC: Air Traffic Control, delays due to restrictions at air traffic control

Delay caused by airline

ARL: Airline, the airline itself caused the reason

 transit passenger:

• usually stays on board of the same aircraft, that departs shortly to the next destination.

• is sometimes allowed to disembark (for cleaning/catering), but is never allowed to leave the "transit area"

passenger arrives from New York and flies to Helsinki with another airline. This is a:

1. stays in the same aircraft
2. has to go to another gate
3. needs to take a transfer to the city
4. needs to stay in the transit area

• has to take another flight

• passenger could miss the flight
• passenger needs to go to another gate

transit:

• passenger travels on with the same aircraft

• passenger cannot miss the flight

• transfer passenger is able to get his/her connecting flight (and the baggage as well)

NOC

• NO Connection
• passenger has no connection to the next flight
• passenger will be informed by PGSA on the booking: what has been arranged for the passenger (new booking, hotel)?

SHOCON-bagage

• transfer baggage to be loaded in the connecting flight withing minutes.
• does not go through baggage system but with a special van (tail-to-tail)

SHOCON-bagage

transferbagage die binnen enkele minuten geladen moet zijn in het volgende vliegtuig. 

Deze bagage gaat niet via de bagagekelder maar wordt rechtstreeks (tail-to-tail) naar het volgende vliegtuig gebracht.

KLM A team:

• Meet And Connect  team (MAC)
• takes care of groups of delayed passengers
• attempt to get less NOC passengers
• saves time (work), money (new booking) and is also a good service to the passengers.
