Slide 1 - Tekstslide

During this biology lesson:
  • Who am I?
  • Who are you?
  • The rules
  • What is biology?
  • Important to know
  • Time for questions
  • End

Slide 3 - Tekstslide

Rules
Bring your books with you
Bring the right materials
No phones (unless i ask u to)
Occasional homework check
Music is a reward
Let's have fun :)

Slide 4 - Tekstslide

What is biology?
Bio = life    logos = science of
Biology = science of life

Physics = Science of non-living nature
Chemistry = Science of substances

Biology, physics and chemistry have lots of connections

Slide 5 - Tekstslide

What do you think we'll learn this year?

Slide 6 - Woordweb

Slide 7 - Tekstslide

Excercise
1. Write down all the organsystems
2. Write down all the organs that are part of a organsystem
3. Explain what the functions are of the organsystems

LIVING, NON-LIVING & DEAD:
  • LIVING = It has all 7 Characteristics of Life.
  • NON-LIVING= It does not have all 7 Characteristics of Life and never will.
  • DEAD= It once had all 7 Characteristics of Life, but not any more.

Slide 20 - Tekstslide

Rules for drawing
  • Use a pencil and a ruler
  • Ruler is only used for straight lines
  • Start by making the outer 2 lines
  • Draw what you see! don't make things up
  • Only draw the main parts, don't draw smaller details
  • Make the drawing BIG
Assignment
  1. Make a specimen of a leaf of the Elodea, use the YouTube video for the correct steps.
  2. Magnify the specimen 400x, use the correct steps when using the microscope!
  3. Make a schematic drawing of 1 cell of the Elodea. You can draw a bit of other cells around your cell, but 1 cell should be the focus of your drawing.
  4. Name at least the following parts in your drawing: Cell wall, cytoplasm, chloroplast.
Name
Class
Date
Cell of the elodea
Schematic drawing
400x
Here you write the names of the different parts of the cell you've drawn
