The present simple tense is used to describe general truths, habits, and regular actions. 

Personal pronoun + verb 

Example: She plays the piano every day. 
Think of the SHIT rule!

The present continuous tense is used to describe actions happening now or in the near future.

Personal pronoun + to be + verb + -ing  

Example: They are playing football right now.

Past Simple: Formation
To form the past simple, we usually add '-ed' to the base form of regular verbs. 

Personal pronoun + verb + -ed

Example: I walked to school yesterday.

Past Simple: Exceptions
There are some exceptions when we use the past simple. 
If the verb ends in -e, you add d.
Like -> Liked 
If the verb ends in one vowel (klinker) + one consonant (medeklinker), you double the consonant and add -ed
Stop -> Stopped 
If the verb ends in a consonant + -y, you change the -y to -ied
Try -> Tried

Past Simple: Irregular Verbs
Irregular verbs have different forms in the past simple tense.

Example: 
He ate an apple for breakfast.
She bought flowers for her mother. 
I drank some water 5 minutes ago.

Past Simple: Usage
The past simple tense is used to talk about completed actions in the past. 

Example: We visited London last summer.

Past Simple: Signal Words
Signal words like 'yesterday,' 'last week,' and 'ago' indicate the use of the past simple tense. 

Example: She finished her homework two hours ago.

Fill in the blanks with the correct form of the verbs in the past simple tense.

We ___ (to walk) a lot last summer.

Past Simple vs. Present Simple
The past simple is used to refer to specific past events, while the present simple describes general truths. 

Example: 
He went to the party (past simple) 
vs. 
He goes to parties (present simple).
