• What is the same as with the Ancient Egyptians? (continuity)

Who has ever been to Greece?

Discribe the landscape:

• Rocky

The Greeks founded colonies. A place outside Greece where they could grow crops. They shipped the food to the parent cities.

City-states

• The Greek cities grew more powerful.
• Cities had their own coins, armies and laws. 
• An independent city is called a polis or city-state.

• Citizens. People born in a polis. He had rights and influence.
• Other free man were peolpe born outside the polis, they did not have rights and influence.
• Slaves and women did not have any rights or influence.
