First we need to know what active is!

Ronaldo - hits- the ball
Ronaldo: is the Subject (person/thing who did something)
hits: is the Verb (the action - what the subject did)
the ball: is the Object (the person/thing who received 
In active sentences, we know and focus on the subject.

What is the difference between these sentences?

So how do we change a sentence from active to passive?
1- We should know (Subject, Verb, Object)
2- Move the Object to the beginning.
3- Know the Tense of the active sentence. And put (Verb to Be) in that tense/time.
4- Put the main verb of active sentence in Past Participle (V3).
5- Move the Subject to the end and put "by" before it. Or you just delete is.

Difference between Active & Passive Voice
  1. ACTIVE VOICE: we focus on WHO did it.
  2. PASSIVE VOICE: we focus on What happened! Or we simple don't know who.

Het onderwerp voert een actie uit.
I paint the room.
Passive Voice
(lijdende vorm)

Het onderwerp overkomt iets.

The room was painted (by me).
En daardoor verandert de werkwoordstijd en wisselen zinsdelen van plek.
