Early crossbow

It was invented in 400b.c.e in Greece. It was called gastrophetes. It could go farder then a ordinary bow. 

What was it for

Greeks invented it to help wage war.

4th century BC in greek crossbow was invented.

146BC Rome took greek ideas.

12th century people started to use crossbow.

1525 crossbow was replaced by firearms.

But some contries still use it.
