What's the plan?

• 3.1 Vocabulary about animals
• 3.2 Grammar: past simple of 'to be': was/were

At the end of of this lesson:

• You can talk about different kind of animals.
• You can use the past simple of to be to talk about things that happened.

Work for yourself: Look at the picture on page 34, 

make this scheme in your notebook and write down the letters + put the animals of exercise 2 (ant, cat etc.) in a category

Make groups of 3 or 4

Do exercise 3, 4 and 6 (page 34 and 35) together

• What was the weather like?

Do exercise 4 of page 36:

• Write sentences in past simple (was/were) about animals in the cartoon.

Look at the example: 

There were three chimps in a cage.

Use the other words/phrases: 

not many people, old lion, giraffe, not any bears, monkeys penguins, gift shop.
