Which exercises/theories should we discuss on the board?

#### Slide 1 -Woordweb

From the homework

• Make a multiplication table
• negative x negative = positive

#### Slide 2 -Tekstslide

• Make a multiplication table
• Remember you are multiplying
the terms on the outside of the table!

#### Slide 3 -Tekstslide

• So the answer was correct, only
the order was not what was asked!

#### Slide 4 -Tekstslide

• Make a multiplication table
• Remember the rules for multiplying negatives
• Remember the rules for adding negatives and positives

#### Slide 5 -Tekstslide

• Make a multiplication table
• Remember the rules for multiplying negatives
• Remember the rules for adding negatives and positives

#### Slide 6 -Tekstslide

Shortening formulas
By now, you know how to write formulas such as
y = 2a(3a-5)                         (see §5.1 and digital lvl 4 and 5)
y = (2a+5)(3a-10)               (see §5.2 and digital lvl 6, 7, 8)
without brackets and as short as possible.

How can you write a formula such as
y = 2a(3a+4) + 7a -3a(2a-7)+(a-4)(2a-5)
without brackets and as short as possible?

#### Slide 7 -Tekstslide

Shortening formulas
When looking at the formula y = 2a(3a+4)+7a-3a(2a-7)+(a-4)(2a+5)
remember the order of operations!
The terms 2a(3a+4) and -3a(2a-7) (include the - sign, because terms are parts you ADD up) and  (a-4)(2a-5) are all multiplications, and those go BEFORE adding and subtracting!

You should write each of these terms without brackets, place them back in the same place you found them and then write the formula as short as possible by combining like terms.
