  • Demonstratives are used for the same purpose in both Dutch and English (aanwijzen)
  • However, in Dutch you choose a demonstrative based on: near/far & het/de 
  • In English, you choose a demonstrative based on: near/far & singular/plural (because we have only 1 article: the)
