To report what someone has said.

Change of: 

• Tense (see table)
• Personal pronouns + possesive adjectives
• Time indicators (today/ the day before)

When do we use reported speech?

1. When telling someone what was said in your own words.
2. When we are literally quoting someone.

For reported speech, if the original sentence is in the present simple, you use ___________ in reported speech.

1. Present simple
2. Past simple
3. Past continuous
4. Past perfect

Rewrite in reported speech:
"I like sushi."

1. He said that he likes sushi.
2. He said that he liked sushi.
3. He said that he had liked sushi.
4. He said would like sushi.

Turn into reported speech:
Nelly: '' My brother is cleaning his room''

1. Nelly said her brother is cleaning his room.
2. Nelly said her brother was cleaning his room.
