Essence
Angola is a resource-rich country and exports a lot of valuable resources. The civil wars that disrupted the Angolan life for many years were mainly fought by resource financed militias. Nowadays, Angola has trade deals with the Chinese government. China extracts resources and in return builds infrastructure. This is called the Angola Model. This model is a defining example of how China interacts with peripheral countries in Africa and South America.
