Is this sentence correct:
I have lived in England 2 years ago
RIGHT
WRONG

Slide 2 - Poll

Just to see where you are at.  I haven't explained it yet, so don't worry if you don't know.  What do you think?

- this is a common mistake.
- It happened in the past
- Is it relevant today? Can you see the result today?
- Should use PAST SIMPLE: I lived in England 2 years ago.

IF it is not definite you can use it.  This example, time has stopped.

There are lots of rules, you will see them in your book. BUT i really want you remember this one.  I think it is THE MOST common mistake for Dutch speakers.  So remember:
- I HVAE LIVED IN ENGLAND. (you may live there again, your still alive, it's not definite).
- OR, if it is still happening:

Is this sentence correct:
I have lived in Voorburg for 10 years

WRONG
