Vragen maken met to be
Je maakt vragen door een vorm van to be voor aan te zetten. Normaal staat dat na het Persoonlijke Voornaamwoord

Vragen maken met can

Ook hier zet je het werkwoord can voor aan in de zin.

Vragen maken met do

Je zet voor aan in de zin de vorm van to do. De andere werkwoorden blijven op hun plek staan.

Vraagzin:
Do lions live in the wild?

Grammar explanation

- Ontkenningen maken met to do, can en to be (THV), en to have got (KGT)
-'s en '
- antwoorden geven op vragen met to be en can

Ontkenningen maken
Als je wil zeggen dat iets niet zo is, zet je het woord not achter het werkwoord.

Opties werkwoorden:
1. To have got: het woord not of de verkorte vorm n't komt achter have. Daarna komt got nog!

2. To be en can: not/n't achter het werkwoord.

3. To do: to do + not vóór het werkwoord!
Maar bij He/She/It: Does! Korte vorm Don't en Doesn't

Voorbeelden:

1. I have not got any plans for Valentine's Day.
I haven't got any plans for Valentine's Day. 
He has not got a chance to go shopping.
He hasn't got a chance to go shopping.

2. She is not interested. He isn't feeling well. We can't to watch a movie. I cannot help you.

3. He doesn't know.
They don't play soccer. 
I do not understand.

Dit gebruik je om bezit aan te geven, dus dat iets van iemand is!

1. Gebruik -'s achter enkelvoud woorden.

2. Gebruik -' achter meervoud woorden die eindigen op een S.

Antwoorden geven op vragen met to be en can

Je doet dit door de persoon en het werkwoord te herhalen. 

Antwoord nee? Voeg not toe aan je antwoord. Afgekort mag ook. 

You (jij, u) = I in je antwoord
You (jullie) = we in je antwoord

- Yes, I am
- No, I am not/I'm not

Is he old?
- Yes, he is
- No, he is not/isn't 

Can I help you?
- Yes, you can
- No, you cannot /can't
