Working Principle
The system operates on the principle of natural convection.
When water in the solar collector is heated by sunlight, it becomes less dense and rises naturally toward the storage tank, which is installed above the collector.
At the same time, colder and heavier water from the tank flows down to the collector.
This continuous circulation occurs automatically as long as sunlight is available. Image Suggestion: Include an animated flow diagram showing water circulation.
Components
Solar collector (flat plate or vacuum tubes)
Storage tank (placed above the collector)
Connecting pipes
Supporting structure
Advantages Disadvantages
No electricity required
Simple and reliable system
Low installation and maintenance cost
Environmentally friendly
Long service life
Storage tank must be installed above the collector
Less flexible in building design
Heat losses can occur at night if insulation is poor
Applications
Thermosiphon solar water heaters are commonly used in:
Residential.
housesApartmentsSmall.
hotelsRural and sunny regionsImage
Conclusion
the solar water heater with natural circulation is an efficient and economical solution for domestic hot water production.its simplicity, reliability, and low cost make it one of the most widely used solar water heating systems in the world.
