                    Read the text and choose the most appropriate title for this text. 

Je m’appelle Antoine et j’ai douze ans. Je suis français et canadien. À l’école, j’étudie trois langues : le français, l’anglais et l’espagnol. Le français est ma langue maternelle. Je parle aussi anglais, et un peu espagnol. Je ne parle pas allemand, parce que je n’étudie pas l’allemand.

Voici ma famille. Mon père est français, il s’appelle Vincent. Il parle français, mais il ne parle pas anglais. Ma mère est canadienne. Elle parle français et anglais. J’ai un frère qui s’appelle Claude et ma sœur s’appelle Julie. Claude a dix-sept ans, et Julie a quinze ans. Ils parlent trois langues comme moi. Nous habitons à Bordeaux, en France. À la maison nous parlons français.

Et toi, tu as des frères ou des sœurs ? Si oui, vous parlez aussi trois langues ? Tu étudies quelles langues ?

1. Read the text : give three possible titles. What is the best title for this text.
2. Write personal pronouns on the board (je – elles)
3. Students are to identify the conjugations of three different regular verbs : parler, étudier and habiter
4. Students make a list in their notebook for every subject pronoun.
5. Students discuss in pairs and decide on a rule
6. Discuss rules with table on next slide and students are to complete Ex.1a page 13.

Les conjugaisons

The subject pronouns are  :

• Je/J'= I
• Tu = You (singular informal)
• Il/Elle = He/She
• Nous = We 
• Vous = You (plural, or singular formal)
• Ils/Elles = They

In the text, identify the subject pronouns for the verbs parler (to speak) , étudier (to study) et habiter (to live). Write the list in your notebook. You should find 12 !
