Today you will:

- Practice irregular verbs

- Learn about instructions

- Learn instruction vocabulary

- Write or record your own instructions

Past: irregular verbs

- You have learnt about the past simple. You use this tense when you talk about something that happened in the past, like: He walked to school this morning or  I went to the pool yesterday

- the bold word is the verb. In sentence 1, the verb is regular: you put -ed behind the whole verb to make it a past tense: welk, walked.

- in sentence 2 the verb is irregular, the whole verb is go but the past tense is went. It doesn't end in - ed! 

- Irregular verbs don't come automatically thats why we will practise some today.

- Follow the link and make the exercise. If you don't know the answer, look it up on the internet. Type in the word followed by "past tense participle"

- After doing it like that, try again for a second time without help.

- Pick your favourite dish (or your least favourite)

- Write instructions for how to make that dish.

- Use the words that you practised in quizlet

- Make sure the instructions are descriptive (beschrijvend) so not "whip two egg whites" but "first, firmly whip two eggs whites untill they form stiff peaks"

- This means: use "when words" (first, then, next, lastly etc.), say how something is done (firmly, carefully, slowly etc.) and talk about what the result is.

- Write your instructions in a google document and hand in in teams

NB: if you choose "broodje frikandel" or similar, you have to make it from scratch, so make the frikandel yourself and not: take frikandel, put on bread, add sauce, done.
