If you are using lightener and are going to tone after, the only thing you need to figure out is:
a) The level you need to lift the hair
b) The type of blonde they are looking for (cool, creamy, ashy etc)

REMEMBER: You are not necessarily going to use the toner a client selects. We should only be using our swatches as guides. The whole colour book should not be brought out, only a few swatches AFTER finding out the type of colour the client would like.
Your consultation should take no longer than 20 MINUTES at the very most. If you are taking an hour to do a consultation then I question whether you are ready to undertake a summative assessment.
Practical sessions:
Timings: You should be completing your services within a commercially viable time at level 3. This means at time which would be acceptable within a salon.
Ideally, a full head of highlights, for summative assessment, should take no longer than 2 hours. There is flexibility in this, but at this point in the course, you should all be completing within this time In a salon, you would only have 75-90 minutes, INCLUDING your consultation.
You need to work more efficiently, getting other students, tutors or techs to get more foil/colour/lightener BEFORE you run out.
