Past simple vs present perfect

Present perfect
Je gebruikt deze vorm om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden begonnen is en nu nog bezig is.
Deze vorm bestaat uit have/has+ voltooid deelwoord.
Je gebruikt deze vorm voor dingen die in het verleden zijn gebeurd en die nu zijn afgelopen.
Bij deze vorm krijgen regelmatige werkwoorden + –ed

  • Something happend in the past and it has ended.


- I went to Madrid this holiday.
Present perfect

  • Something happened in the past and it is still going on right now.

- I have been living in the Netherlands since I was born.

- Worked, wanted, played.
Present perfect

  • We use have or has + verb


- I have wanted that phone for so long.
