Give the most important function of these parts of the cell:

a) nucleus, the brain of the cell it controls what happens and contains the DNA

b) cell membrane, a flexible membrane around the cell that controls what goes into and out of the cell

c) cytoplasm, the filling of the cell made of water, salts and nutrients

Exercise 3

What are the functions of 

a) chloroplasts, using sunlight to produce sugars (photosynthesis).

b) the cell wall of a plant cell, it helps plant cells keep their shape and support the structure of the plant

Exercise 4

List four differences between plant and animal cells.

1. Animal cells are flexible plant cells are not.

2. Plant cells have a cell wall, animal cells do not.

3. Plant cells have chloroplasts, animal cells do not.

4. Plant cells have a vecuole, animal cells do not.
