'If' & 'When'
If: something that could possibly happen
If you finish your homework now, you can meet your friends.

When: something that is definitely going to happen
When I go out later, I'll lock the door.

Conditionals
Conditionals are sentences that describe hypothetical and 
real scenarios, we also call them "if-clauses" because the sentence often starts with "if..."

Three types of conditionals:
1. The Zero Conditional: the result is a fact
If water reaches hundred degrees Celsius, water boils.

2. The First Conditional: the result is likely to happen
If I write this down, I will remember it.

3. The Second Conditional: the result is not real or unlikely
If I had the money, I would buy these expensive jeans.

Types of sentences
Simple: one subject, one verb
> He loves his car. I work in a supermarket.
Compound: two simple sentences that are joined with linking words 
(and, or, but, so)
> He works at a supermarket and he works at a carwash.
Complex: when you add a dependent clause to a simple sentence with linking words such as because, although, after, when, before or the relative pronouns                             > He left his house at 8 because his shift starts at 9
