Basic Word Order Review

Remember: Subject + Verb + Object + Adverb (SVOA). This is the core structure for English sentences.

Manner (как?) → Place (где?) → Time (когда?)

Примеры:

• She sings beautifully in the hall every evening.

• They worked hard in the office last night.

Two Objects in a Sentence

Without Preposition

S + V + Indirect Object + Direct Object. Example: She gave me a present.

With Preposition to

S + V + Direct Object + to + Indirect Object. Example: She gave a present to me.

Using "to" and "for"

to — когда есть передача/движение:

give, send, show, write, bring, tell

Примеры:

• He sent an email to his boss.

• She wrote a letter to her friend.

for — когда мы что-то делаем ДЛЯ кого-то

buy, cook, make, find, get

Примеры:

• He bought a cake for his sister.

• She made dinner for her family.

Questions and Negatives

Учителю: напомните — в вопросах всегда инверсия:

Do/Does + subject + verb + ... ?

Примеры:

• Do you like music?

• Does she play tennis?

Отрицания

S + do/does not + V

• She does not like coffee.

• They do not watch TV.

Practice: Word Order Exercise

Rearrange: yesterday / quickly / finished / work / they / at the office. (Answer: They finished work quickly at the office yesterday.)
