Expectations- Classroom Rules

  • No entering the classroom without a tutor 

  • No food or drinks  when entering the classroom- Only water in a clear bottle

  • Log onto a Chromebook

  • Complete 'Do Now' task

  •  Participate fully in your session

  • No Hands up- Questions- No opt out 

  • NO use of mobile phones- unless instructed to by tutor

  • Toilet breaks not permitted in the first 30 minutes or the last 15 minutes of your session 

  • Learning Review booklets/ Knowledge organisers 

  • Remember to put Chromebooks at the end of session and remember to log out and put back on charge.

When you hear a continuous fire alarm it means we need to evacuate.

  • Leave belongings behind

  • Leave salon in your group and walk down the back staircase

  • Leave through the fire exit door at the bottom of the stairs

  • Walk around the side of the building

Salon meet on the front grass area, by the large tree.


You must stay in your group, do not walk off!!!


You can enter the building again once given the ok to do so.

Accident and first aid book

The accident book and first aid box can be found in dispensary.


If you have an accident you must inform your tutor who will make the decision whether a first aider must be called/


All accidents must be recorded in the accident report book

During a manicure treatment, a bottle of nail polish remover has been left open and spills onto the floor.



What is the hazard?


What is the risk?


How could the hazard be controlled?

  1. Hazard: Spilt nail polish remover/product on the floor.

  2. Risk: Someone could slip and fall and potentially injure themselves.

  3. Control: Clean the spill immediately, close/store the product safely and warn others until the area is safe.
