Slide 14 - Tekstslide

Present Continuous
We use the present continuous...
  • when we talk about things that are happening as we speak (now)
    It is raining.
    Dad is working in the garden at the moment.

  • when we do things that are different from our routine (temporary situations)
    Normally I go by bike, but today I am taking the bus.
    Dad is working at home today.

  • when we talk about things that are going to happen in the near future
    What are you doing this afternoon?

Routine is what people often do, like their daily business, including for instance work and where they live.

verb = werkwoord
present participle = onvoltooid deelwoord
Dit is altijd het werkwoord met ing erachter, bijvoorbeeld: walking, studying, playing, etc.

  2. If you have a word that ends with ie, like die / tie / lie; change the ie into y

  3. One-syllable      words that end with a CVC structure (consonant - vowel - consonant)       get a double consonant, so no swiming or runing.
