Applying ATL Skills in this LessonThinking (Critical Thinking Skills): You will practice analyzing and evaluating ideas by watching an educational video.

You will actively formulate your own factual, conceptual, and debatable questions based on the video's content. You will collaborate to discuss, categorize, and select the best questions to create a practice exam.

Self-Management (Reflection Skills): You will engage in self-assessment to identify your personal learning strengths and weaknesses.

You will practice this by using a graphic organizer to separate the vocabulary you understand from the words they do not understand. This exercise requires you to reflect on their learning process to successfully prepare for their summative assessment

Paso 1: Mira el video.  No escribas. Solo escucha y observa.

Paso 2: Mira el video de nuevo.  Ahora usa tu Organizador Gráfico y escribe

 Escribe palabras clave que entiendas (columna izquierda)

 Escribe palabras que no entiendas (columna derecha)

The IB Questions

English:

Factual and : Facts. (What? Who? When?)

Conceptual : Big ideas. (How does X connect to Y?)

Debatable : Different opinions/ethics. (To what extent...?)

Español:

Fáctica : Hechos. (¿Qué? ¿Quién? ¿Cuándo?)

Conceptual : Grandes ideas. (¿Cómo se conecta X con Y?)

Debatible : Diferentes opiniones/ética. (¿Hasta qué punto...?)

Tiempo: 15 minutos 

Mira el vídeo dos veces más. 

Tarea: Escribe 6 preguntas sobre el video.

Regla 1: Escribe diferentes tipos de preguntas (Fáctica,  Conceptual, Debatible).

Regla 2: Escribe 1 pregunta por Post-it.

En equipos de tres (3)

Discute si esas preguntas son Factuales, Conceptuales o Debatibles. 

Pon los post-it en el sitio que les corresponde de la tabla (poster).

El profesor/alumno debe crear una pizarra/papel y dividirlo en 3 secciones (factual, conceptual, debatable) y ahí los alumnos pondrán los post it

Crea un examen 

Elige las mejores preguntas y...

Crea un examen con dos preguntas de cada Strand (create also an answer key in a different document. Share everything with your teacher). El examen será compartido con otro equipo posteriormente. 

Strand i:  

identify explicit and implicit information (facts and/or opinions, and supporting details

Strand ii: analyse conventions 

type of text, goal, reliability, target audience, effect of words and music, feelings, supporting information for all mentioned details

Strand iii: analyse connections 

connect to the text by making questions that give you the chance to form an opinion and prove it, especially when there is no easy answer
