Passives = lijdende vorm

Lijdende vorm = iets wordt gedaan

Het onderwerp doet niks maar 'wordt gedaan'

vaak worden in het NL de hulpwerkwoorden 'worden' en 'zijn' gebruikt

Het onderwerp / wordt / door iemand / gedaan

Het boek / werd / door hem / geschreven

Language review: passives

Passives (English)

NL = wordt/werd + voltooid deelwoord

ENG = be (was/were) + voltooid deelwoord

Examples:

1. De producten worden getest voordat ze verzonden worden

The products are tested before shipping

2. De nieuwe winkel werd gisteren geopend

The new shop was opened yesterday

werkwoord to be: 

tt: I am, you are, he is etc.

vt: I was, you were, he was

Make passive:
Peter washes the car

1. The car is washed by Peter
2. Peter washed the car
3. Peter has washed the car
4. The car was washed by Peter

Make passive:
Alex learned the poem

1. The poem is learned by Alex
