Trafalgar Square
Op het midden van het plein staat Nelson's Column. Deze zuil is ongeveer 50 meter hoog terwijl het beeld van Nelson zelf maar 5,5 meter hoog is. 
Trafalgar Square behoort samen met Piccadilly Circus en Leicester Square tot de bekendste pleinen in Londen.
Het is genoemd naar de slag bij Trafalgar van 1805 waarbij Horatio Nelson een Spaans-Franse vloot van Napoleon versloeg. Bij dit zeegevecht kwam Admiraal Nelson om het leven.

The House of Parliament is the where the government is located.
The Big Ben is the bell in the famous tower next to the House of Parliament. Most people think the name of the tower itself is Big Ben. That's not correct because the tower is called The Elizabeth Tower.
The Tower of London is an old castle on the north bank of the river Thames. It used to be a prison. Nowadays it is a museum and it houses the Crown Jewels.
The bridge next to the castle is called Tower Bridge and is also a famous sight.
Buckingham Palace is the palace where Queen Elizabeth lives. 
The London Eye was built in 1998 and is a giant ferris wheel in London. It is 135 metres tall and one round-trip takes 30 minutes.
Hyde Park is the largest park in London. 
Piccadilly Circus is a famous place in London. It is famous for the big video screens and the neon signs.
Leicester Square is a famous square in the middle of West End (a part of London famous for its theatre shows and cinemas). The cinemas on Leicester Square are often used for world premieres of films.
Oxford Circus is a big intersection in London at the point where Oxford Street meets Regent Street. In 2009, the intersection was changed and now pedestrians can cross diagonally.
